I’ve always been a fan of the Tomb Raider series but haven’t had the chance to try out the latest edition.  I was actually planning on picking it up before the next gen consoles were released but that didn’t work either.  I actually came to a consensus that I probably wasn’t going to play the game unless I knew someone who had it and had nothing else to play.  Luckily, they are re-releasing the latest version of Tomb Raider that is “re-built specifically for next gen consoles” which is due January 28th of 2014.  This is music to my ears.

The “Definitive Edition” is going to include all of the DLC (including the Tomb of the Lost Adventurer, the six outfits for Lara, a digital comic “The Beginning” and a digital mini art book.  Its going to be for both next gen consoles, Xbox One and Playstation 4, and it already up for pre-order now over at Amazon.  Now if your worried that its going to be a simple port from the now last gen consoles, then stand corrected.  This “new” version of Tomb Raider will run native at 1080p resolution and all textures have been created at 4x resolution for maximum resolution and detail as well as enemies, environments and characters have been enhanced for added depth and realism.

For those who haven’t tried the latest version of Lara Croft’s adventure and are in possession of the Xbone or Ps4, now is your chance to redeem yourself.  I sure will.  If you’d like to see our review, the link will be posted here.
