Steelseries is set to release “the first wireless gamepad controller ever to be supported in iOS7” and it looks great.  The app store is full of games that for most cases aren’t easy to play with on screen controls and thats where the Stratus comes in.  It is specifically designed for console-style gameplay on your iPad, iPhone and iPod touch running iOS7 as well as your HDTV while AirPlay Mirroring from your iOS device to a Apple TV.

Stratus Specs

“With Stratus, gamers have easy and direct access to a growing roster of great games on iPad that were intended for an immersive, controller-enabled experience.” – SteelSeries CEO, Bruce Hawver

The Stratus (cool name) is bluetooth powered and is set to give 10+ hours of battery life to go along with its sleek/lightweight build.  It also has a really familier console-style layout with pressure sensitive D-Pad, 4 pressure-sensitve action buttons (ABXY) and 4 (yes, you guessed it) pressure-sensitive shoulder buttons along with dual analog sticks.  It is reminiscent of an xbox 360 controller to put things into perspective.

The SteelSeries Stratus Controller is available today for pre-order on for $99.99 MSRP in black and white.  For more information and reviews on SteelSeries products, stay tuned to RTV.
