The official PlayStation app has now hit the App Store and Google Play just days before the release of the PlayStation 4. The app just basically gives you all standard information you would want from your PlayStation account; friends list, trophies, messages and profile. So far the application is pretty much dead until you get a PS4 as you can connect your device to your console via the app. The PS4 connection will work similar to Xbox’s Smart glass in using your device to navigate through the new home screen.
Something very interesting that I enjoyed from the app so far is the ability to send voice messages and photos straight from your phone to a friend. Just simply create a new message and select the attachment option which will then allow you to take a photo, select a photo from your gallery, or leave a voice message. This is probably going to be a very fun and useful way to reach your friends without having to manually message them through the console. There is also the option in group chatting with friends and even seeing what your friends up to.
The app is super clean and responsive, take a look at it for yourself over at the App Store and Google Play.
