With the holidays over, the iconic Nintendo World store in Rockerfeller Plaza in New York City will be closing its doors for about a month. No worries my dear friends. This closing is for an extreme makeover to the store in which Ninetendo states will be a powered-up overhaul with new updated interior and new Wii U and 3DS demo areas. There will also be a huge 15 foot big screen and a giant bronze coin installed at the stores entrance and will read “Where everyone comes to play.”
“Nintendo is constantly evolving its experiences for fans,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “The new Nintendo NY store is a must-see location for anyone that has a memory of Nintendo, or who wants to see what Nintendo has in store for the future.”
The store will reopen on February 19 with special events taking place that weekend (19-21). The event will feature special giveaways, activities, an appearance by Mario and Luigi and even limited edition special merchandise sold just for the weekend. We will be at the store for the reopening to bring you photos of the new look!
