Microsoft announce new budget friendly Lumia 640 & 640 XL

Today, Microsoft has announced two new budget friendly devices to their smartphone line up – the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL. The new Lumia 640 takes the place of the 635 and improves in every way possible. Boasting a larger 5-inch 720p HD display, Dual-Sim technology in LTE and 3G service. The 640 XL is no different on the band side but instead will have a 5.7-inch 720p HD display.

Microsoft has also added a one year subscription to Office 365 Personal which includes PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook and OneNote across multiple devices, 60 free minutes of Skype Unlimited and 1TB of OneDrive Cloud Storage.

Pricing for both devices go as follows:

640 (LTE Dual Sim) – $180
640 (3G Dual Sim) – $155
640 XL (LTE Dual Sim) – $245
640 XL (3G Dual Sim) – $210

Lumia 640 XL Highlights:

  •  AT&T will be the first U.S. carrier to offer the device

  •  13MP autofocus rear camera and 5MP wide-angle front camera
  • Quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor

Lumia 640 Highlights:

  • 8MP rear camera or 1MP front-facing camera
  • Quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor
  • 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage

It was also announced that both models will be coming to AT&T, T-Mobile and Metro PCS sometime this April.
